The most common sport in Poland
Lots of people say that football  is the most important sport for Polish sport fans. However, in recent years Polish men volleyball team gives us the most satisfaction. Everybody gladly follows every match of our representation. We are all happy and proud of every success they get.
History:
The first mention of volleyball in Poland dates back to 1919, but our game was initially called "flying ball". Four years later, the first volleyball clubs were established  and they were based on the academic community. 1928 is the official date of the beginning of an organized form of volleyball in our country.

Rules:
The game involves two teams. Each team appearing on the court has 6 players, and the full composition together with the substitute players should be 12 people.
A volleyball match is set for 2 or 3 sets won. The team that scores the first 25 points with the necessary a two-point lead wins the set. The team which grounds the ball on the other team's court (under organized rules) scores the point. Points are also gained when your opponent makes a mistake. The ball may be touched with any part of the body.
History of the most important volleyball tournaments :
For the first time in history the tournament of the European Championship was played in Italy (Rome). The most common sports in Denmark
For the kids the most common is to do sports in sports clubs, like handball or football. For the adults it’s much more common to do sports where you don’t have to do it at a specific time, like fitness. In Denmark it’s rare that we are one of the best to a sport. However we are very good at handball, and actually we claim that it was us who invented it. This is very hard to confirm however, but we do know that the first rules for handball was written down by a Danish man called Holger Nielsen. Since then the sport has got more popular, and it is no longer played in Denmark only, but all over the world.
Handball was introduced as an Olympic sport for men at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, where Germany won, but it was dropped after that, only to be resumed at the 1972 Summer Olympics, again on German territory, here the Yugoslavia won. Women's handball competition was introduced at the 1976 Summer Olympics, where the Soviet Union won.

The countries who have won most gold medals for men is:
·         Soviet Union: 2
·         Yugoslavia: 2
·         Russia:2

The countries who have won most olympic gold medals for women is:
·         Denmark:3
·         South Korea:2
·         Norway:2

But handball is not only played at the olympics there is also World- and european championships. In the WC’s Denmark has won 4 medals for men and 5 for women. In the EC’s Denmark has won 6 medals for men and 5 medals.

Rules:
2 teams play against each other in a match, that team, which got most goals through the match wins. The sport field is quite big, 20 multiply 40 metre. A match is divided up in two half-time, each time is 30 min. play time.
There is 6 players and a goalkeeper, the 6 field players take part in both the offensive and the defensive part.
The Handball game got some things they lay claim to, it is, conditions, quickness, brute strength, bunch- and throw power. If you are that person, which got the position as defender, you have to be good in brute strength and quickness. The biggest and strongest players got often the position as the Centre defends, because its involve close encounter. The defense last hope, if they not already had blocked the ball is the goalkeeper, the goalkeeper, need some quickness and flexibility, to take the ball so the competitor do not score.
