We want to tell you about what the teenagers do in their spare time in Denmark. We have found some topics – Friends, Sport, the new school reform and stuff like that.

Friends:
Teenagers in our country spend very much of their spare time with their friends. It is different what we do together it depends on many things. Sometimes we don’t really do anything, just hanging out together. It is things as a trip to the city, relaxing, going on a café, sometimes we do homework together and when we are to sport we are also together with our friends.
In Denmark friends are a big topic, we teenagers use almost so much time on our friends as we use on our family. In some families they have discussions about how much time the children can use on their friends because they have to focus more on their school.

The new school reform:
In Denmark teenagers go to school from 8 am to approx. 3 pm. In Denmark the school is a strong presence and the school is obligatory from 0. class to 9. Class. We don’t think there is some bad consequence about that the school is obligatory we actually think it’s a good thing. In 2014 there came a new school reform. Some of the changes in the school reform is that the students get English classes earlier. Because of the new school reform students have less spare time e.g. sport, but the good thing of the school reform is that we get less homework to do in the spare time.

Sport:
Sport is a big part of every single teenager’s everyday in Denmark. It is not all teenagers there do sport but they like to see for example football in the Television. So sport has also a part in their life.
Here on Vivild gymnastic and sports efterskole is sport a very big part of our everyday. We have about 15 hours sport on one week. Most of the time we spend on our optional subject witch could be sports like handball, football, badminton, fitness and many other.

Social Media:
In teenagers everyday life in Denmark fills the social media very much. We all spend very much time on the social media. The media we use the most we think is Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram. We have talked about how much time teenagers in Denmark spend on the social medias in one day and we concluded that it is very different much long time teenagers use on the social media.

Comparing:
In the public school we had nearly the same spare time as we have on our efterskole. But we will say that you don’t have so much spare time on an efterskole as you have on a public school not because of the lessons but because of all the sport we do in our “spare time”.
But the student who is in High school doen's as much spare time as we have, because they use nearly all there time on homework and school stuff.
